This summer as many of us enjoy a great vacation, other families in our area are struggling to put food on the table and meet basic needs. Many of them have young children and we'd like to help them be prepared to learn as they start kindergarten. How? We're hoping to provide four school districts in Dutchess & Orange counties with backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need.
What can you do?
Please donate or start a drive for new school supplies at your business or civic organization. Items that are needed include crayons, pencils and erasers, markers, glue, child-safe scissors, pocket folders, and notebooks.

We've set up an Wish List for the Backpack Drive through Amazon Smile, to make it easy if you prefer to purchase directly through Amazon and ship to United Way. Just click here.
If you would like to contribute to the backpack drive, please drop off donations to either our Poughkeepsie or Montgomery offices during business hours (M - Th from 9am - 5pm and Fri from 9am - 4pm). Donations will be collected through close of business on Monday, August 12th.
