The challenges that veterans face are too big and complex for any single organization to solve alone. For nearly 80 years, United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region has forged indispensible partnerships that span every sector of society in our community. Your United Way wants to help the 40,000 veterans living in Dutchess & Orange counties receive the services and support they need. We've listened to our community that has identified key barriers that our veterans face: housing assistance, legal assistance, and employment related training and education.
This year, thanks to your support, United Way will begin to fund programs that will to promote stability for veterans and their families by providing increased access to housing and pro bono legal services as well as greater attainment of professional training.
Instead of duplicating services from government and veterans groups, MISSION UNITED™coordinates services and provides additional resources to bridge the gap. All it takes is one phone call to United Way's 2-1-1 for the Hudson Valley Region for veterans to connect to a case coordinator who guides them through the process - from beginning to end.
Through MISSION UNITED we fight for those who fought for us.
