On June 17, twelve volunteers participated in a Day of Action at the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley located in Cornwall-on-Hudson. The volunteers helped the Food Bank sort through the donations it received so that the food can be sent out to nearly 200 food pantries in the region. Volunteer Alan Creais, a leader of his company’s community engagement efforts, was able to take part in his first Day of Action with United Way.
Alan Creais, President of Kal Pac Corporation based out of Montgomery, is no stranger to volunteering, as both a leader in his company for community involvement and an avid volunteer himself. He enjoyed watching everyone at the project come together to help a great cause. The volunteers sorted through thousands of pounds of food so that the Food Bank is able to continue helping the community. Their efforts really made a huge difference in just one day of volunteering!
Alan sees community engagement as very important in both his personal life and for his company. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in the past, and has led KalPac in its community impact endeavors. Last year, KalPac Corporation was awarded Orange County’s Commitment to Community Award for its efforts. Alan leads the company’s community projects by example, because “as a leader at KalPac, who better to lead as a volunteer?”
