There will also be a networking session for all in attendance. There is no charge to attend, but registration is limited. Open to all nonprofit professionals in Orange and Dutchess Counties who wish to develop effective collaborative management skills.

Schedule:

9:00am - 9:30am       Introduction
9:30am - 10:45am     Workshop 1: Measuring Outcomes - Drive Your Logic Model by Louise McLoughlin, Vice President of Workforce Development for the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce's Workforce Development Center

A logic model is your program's ROAD MAP to success. Whether you are in the program development stage or you are evaluating an existing program (or anything in between) a logic model assists you and your stakeholders in the decision-making process. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a relevant and useful logic model. You will identify resources and tie program activities back to the organization's mission and vision statements. You will create outcomes that are clear and measurable and show if and how the program makes a difference in the lives of participants. Learn to create simple stories using the right amount of emotion and personality to solidfy your grant requests.

10:45am - 11:15am     Refreshments
11:15am - 12:30pm     Volunteer Management:
Work Smarter Not Harder. Utilizing An Asset-Based Volunteer Management Approach by Melissa A. Gaeke, Ph.D., Director of Marist College's Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership

Workshop participants will learn about Appreciative Inquiry, which builds organization capacity and begins by valuing the organization and its culture. Central to the approach is an emphasis on learning about the organization, its relationships, and its environment; and by identifying and building on existing strengths rather than examining problems and deficiencies in detail. Each particpant will have the opportunity to practice using an Appreciative Inquiry tool and develop an action plan for their organization.

1:15pm - 1:30pm       Wrap-Up
