The filing and payment dates for federal and state tax returns have been extended to July 15, 2020. If you have a refund coming from the IRS, there is no penalty for failing to file your tax return by the deadline, even if you don't ask for an extension. For customers interested in completing their tax return using an online product we advise visiting the IRS website to learn about your options. If you or your family needs support connecting to health and human services during this difficult time, please go to the Dutchess Orange Community Resources page (www.uwdor.org/covid19-communityresources) and remember to call the Hudson Valley United Way information and referral service at 2-1-1 for guidance.
The Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) is dedicated to helping families and individuals in the Hudson Valley save money and improve their financial stability. In 2019, over 7,977 tax returns were prepared and filed in Orange and Dutchess counties.
Partner organizations of the Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition include United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, AARP Tax-Aide, Catholic Charities, the IRS, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Community Action Partnership of Dutchess County, Fidelis Care, Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Maplewood, Marist College, Mount Saint Mary College, MVP Healthcare, North East Community Center, Orange County Office for the Aging, Pathstone, Pawling Resource Center, RSVP Senior Volunteer Program United Health Care, United Way Hudson Valley Region 211, United Way of Westchester Putnam and Walden Savings Bank.
