Matt Paquet is employed by Abilities First, Inc, a non-profit organization that provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities and also works as the Director of Athletics at Dutchess Community College. Mr. Paquet has been employed at Abilities First for 14 years and currently works in the Department of Quality Assurance as a Quality Assurance Coordinator. Mr. Paquet’s 14 years working in human services has provided him with a great deal of knowledge regarding the structure and operations of non-profit and state operated organizations and services. In 2003, he began his career in athletics and worked for 3 years as a coach at Our Lady of Lourdes High School and as the Associate Head Coach of the baseball team at Dutchess Community College for 4 years. In 2009, he was hired as the Director of Athletics at Dutchess Community College where he is responsible for the oversight of their 10 athletic programs. Mr. Paquet began volunteering at the United Way of Dutchess and Orange Counties in 2007 and has served as a member of the Young Leaders United Initiative since 2008 and as the Chair of the Young Leaders committee since 2014. In 2009 he was a recipient of the “Top 40 Under 40” for Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Paquet, a native of Poughkeepsie, New York, attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School. Mr. Paquet graduated from Quinnipiac University Cum Laude in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. In 2013 he received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marist College. He Paquet currently resides in Red Oaks Mill, New York with his wife, Mary, and dog, Laney. They are expecting their first child in July 2017.
