United Way’s Days of Sharing Help 18 Dutchess and Orange Counties Nonprofits to Provide Clothing, Housewares for Clients

The generosity of four retailers – Bed, Bath & Beyond of Newburgh and Woodbury Commons Outlet stores of Calvin Klein, Van Heusen, and Izod, provided 18 Dutchess and Orange County nonprofits with clothing and housewares for their clients distributed during United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region’s two Days of Sharing.

Fifty cartons containing 2,000 articles of clothing and accessories from the three retail outlets and housewares with a total value of $6,607 from Bed, Bath & Beyond made possible the two Days of Sharing in Dutchess County on March 22 and in Orange County on April 4 where the nonprofits representatives were able to select much needed goods for their clients.

The donations and days are part of United Way’s Campaign for the Common Good launched in September, a continuing effort to engage individuals, businesses, government agencies and educational institutions to come together to find solutions to the needs of our community.

Representatives taking part in the Days of Sharing were from House of Hope, Pathstone Corp., Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, Hudson River Housing, Mid-Hudson Love INC, Osborne Association, Poughkeepsie Day Nursery, Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh, Birthright, Dutchess Outreach, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Safe Homes of Orange County, Easter Seals New York, Youth Advocate Programs Inc., Newburgh Ministry Inc., Project L.I.F.E., and Girls on the Run Hudson.
