United Way to Hold Holiday Gathering to Benefit Community

December 5, 2013

Young Leaders United invites the community to attend a holiday gathering on December 9 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Mill Street Brewing Company in Poughkeepsie. Attendees are encouraged to bring gift cards to local grocery stores to be donated to Poughkeepsie Housing Authority and Occupations, Inc. The event is free to attend and is open to the public.

United Way has made a commitment to address immediate needs when crisis situations occur in Orange and Dutchess Counties. Hunger is an issue that has a profound effect on the community. 1 in 5 children in the region are food insecure. More than 35,000 children living in Dutchess and Orange are eligible for free or reduced lunch. The donated grocery store gift cards will help alleviate some of the burdens that families face when buying food this holiday season.

Sponsors include PRIME Tax Planning Division, Mill Street Brewing Company and SERVPRO of Western Dutchess County & SERVPRO of Kingston/New Paltz.
