Day of Sharing Spotlight: Carly Wolert, RSS

On June 12th, the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region held a Day of Sharing, in which community nonprofits came to the Poughkeepsie Office and collected items for their organizations. Days of Sharing are hosted by United Way on a quarterly basis, and features items such as bedding, housewares, and clothing which are all generously donated by local businesses, including Van Huesen, Bed Bath & Beyond, Calvin Klein, and Izod.

Carly Wolert attended the most recent Day of Sharing, representing Rehabilitation Support Services Inc. (RSS). This was her first time attending the event, and she explained, “it is a great way to be able to offer our clients more resources.” Wolert is a Housing Specialist who works with 26 clients, who suffer from mental illness and substance abuse.

Among the items that Carly found most useful for her organization were bathroom accessories, bedding, and clothing. Wolert indicated that she would be bringing the items back to RSS after the event and she anticipated that: “everyone in the program will be extremely excited about the new donations!”

Rehabilitation Support Services Inc. is an organization that provides opportunities for people with disabilities such as mental illness and substance abuse, to maximize their potential and lead fulfilling lives. The items Wolert collected, including bedding, bathroom fixtures, kitchen items, clothing on Day of Sharing will go to improving the lives of these residents.

The next Day of Sharing will be on Friday, September 18th. If you or your organization would like to participate, please email CI-Inbox@uwdor.org.
