Dr. McKee was brought up in New Jersey and educated in the public schools of Basking Ridge and Bernardsville. He graduated from Drew University and Cornell University Medical College. His further medical training was at the Buffalo General Hospital and the Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, New York. He served 2 1/2 years as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Navy. He moved his family to the Poughkeepsie Area in 1965 and joined the Mid Hudson Medical Group in Fishkill where he practiced internal medicine and oncology. He was a member of the staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center until his retirement in 2000. His local community activities included the Sloper-Willen Ambulance Board, the Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County, a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association and a grant reviewer for United Way of the Duchess-Orange Region. He particularly enjoyed the grant review process because it acquainted him with so many of the wonderful agencies that do good things in so many ways. He is happy to have lived here and to have brought up his family here for so many years in Dutchess County. He is happy that his children have all grown to be good and loving citizens and that although he lost his first wife of 64 years marriage he has been able to remarry and find that life indeed does go on. He looks forward to contributing to the UWDOR community activities.
