United Way’s 80th Anniversary Celebration concluded with spectacular event with more than 450 community leaders in attendance raising over $140,000!

On Wednesday, April 25th, United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region threw itself a birthday party and more than 450 joined in the celebration! For the fourth year, United Way has presented a dinner event at the conclusion of its annual workplace campaign that allows supporters, business and nonprofit executives to meet, mingle and learn about more about the work of United Way. 

Application for Funding: Orange County Emergency Food and Shelter Program - Phase 36

Orange County has been chosen to receive $177,122.00 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. The selection was made by a National Board that is chaired by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and consists of representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Jewish Federations of North America, The Salvation Army; and United Way Worldwide.

National Volunteer Week 2018

United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week 2018 as part of its annual Days of Caring initiative. This year United Way’s National Volunteer Week, taking place now through April 21st, offers a variety of opportunities in the Hudson Valley to volunteer and support the community with 13 projects across Dutchess and Orange counties and 17 corporate teams attending. United Way’s Days of Caring are sponsored by Orange & Rockland Utilities. National Volunteer Week 2018 also is supported by Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.

New opportunity for veterans and military families to enhance their communities. Free training begins on 3/17.

United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region is offering an exciting new opportunity for veterans and military families. The Community Heroes Project is a training program structured to guide service members and their families in further developing the leadership skills they already have and utilizing those skills to address some of the most pressing issues in our community.

Meet Jazmin Awada, UWDOR's Community Building VISTA

United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region welcomes Jazmin Awada as the Community Building VISTA for AmeriCorps, through United Way’s national network. During her year-long service position, she will focus on economic mobility within the community.

“My goal is to help expand and enhance financial literacy programs and Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition’s free tax-preparation programs in the community,” explained Jazmin. “In addition to this, I also will be working toward expanding United Way’s Day of Sharing program.”

ESPRI Newburgh to hold monthly meetings about living and working in Newburgh. First meeting is on January 29th from 6-8pm.

ESPRI Newburgh will host monthly meetings, beginning next Monday, January 29th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at 87 Ann Street to gather community-minded people living and / or working in the City of Newburgh impacted by poverty in an effort to discuss challenges and plans to help support the needs of all Newburgh residents.
